Boeing 787 composite construction a major step forward

Most of the fuselage for Boeing's 787 -- the first airliner with a composite fuselage -- will be built in Charleston, S.C. The company will fly the parts to Everett, Wash., using modified 747s known as Large Cargo Freighters. Boeing is also building part of the 787 in Europe, home to its rival Airbus.
