Expert offers hurricane-related insurance proposals

Hurricane expert William Gray said the recent hurricane damage was no surprise to him. At a House hearing Wednesday, he offered advice concerning insurers preparing for upcoming storms. Gray's industry-related recommendations included making a portion of profits tax-free, floating insurance rates in individual states and establishing a national building and retrofitting code for hurricane-prone buildings.
