City officials worry about stricter ADA proposals

A proposal by the Bush administration to expand the Americans with Disabilities Act might hit local parks departments hard, some city officials fear. "Sometimes you've got to choose: [ADA] upgrades to the park or a softball program," said Tom Colwell, a city parks manager. "Times are tough financially, but we owe it to residents to make areas accessible."
