Politician: Vague service-dog law causes unnecessary harassment

People with service animals are too often viewed with skepticism in New York City, says Laura Damone, 56, whose service dog helps her overcome post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and panic attacks. Damone's experience has prompted a New York City assemblywoman to try to change city regulations so that people without visibly apparent disabilities are not asked to provide evidence of their disabilities, as Damone once was on the subway.
