Telehealth program for children helps parents find care

The Rochester City School District and University of Rochester Medical Center created a telehealth program to help parents find medical care for their children and reduce the number of people who use the hospital emergency department for routine medical problems. Parents can contact a school nurse, who calls a certified telehealth assistant, who then transmits information to the child's pediatrician or another physician or nurse practitioner in the program.
