22,000 tires help keep soccer field green

A soccer field in Vancouver, British Columbia, has been resurfaced using 346,000 pounds of crumb rubber harvested from 22,450 scrapped auto tires. The recycled rubber serves as a soil additive, cushioning the Empire Field Stadium's turf and helping to improve drainage.
