Court ruling on a Crestor patent favors maker AstraZeneca

The U.S. district court upheld AstraZeneca's patent for Crestor, a ruling that prevents several generic-drug makers from launching copies of the cholesterol drug until a patent expires in 2016. Judge Joseph J. Farnan said Apotex, one of the firms that challenged the patent, might be held liable for infringement.
