Florida's "Clean Cities" aim for federal recognition

A coalition of cities in North Florida is hoping to win recognition from the U.S. Department of Energy's Clean Cities program, allowing access to federal funding as it converts municipal fleets to use alternative fuels such as natural gas and propane. The coalition aims to reduce municipal-vehicle oil use by 10% and meets regularly to instruct officials about the merits of propane, natural gas and other clean fuels.
