Medicine is moving toward more evidence-based practice

Medical guidelines helped Milwaukee's Froedtert Hospital reduce average lengths of stay 16% between 2003 and 2008 as part of cardiologist Dr. Lee Biblo's push to bring more standardization and evidence-based practice to medicine. The health reform law will put more focus and money on comparative research to educate physicians and patients about which treatments work best.
