More hospitals are adopting family-centered pediatric rounds

A survey of 265 pediatric hospitalists found 44% conducted family-centered rounds that involved the parents, more often in university-affiliated medical centers than in community hospitals. The study in Pediatrics found barriers to using family-centered rounds included small patient rooms, worries about patient confidentiality and concerns about physician training.
