Mortgages modified under HAMP fare better than others, report says

Borrowers whose loans were modified under the U.S. Home Affordable Modification Program are more likely to remain current than homeowners with loans modified through other programs, according to a study by the Office of Thrift Supervision and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Less than 17% of HAMP-altered mortgages were behind one monthly payment or more, according to the study.
