Supreme Court to hear case on 2007 Arizona immigration law

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a legal challenge to a 2007 Arizona law that penalizes employers who knowingly hire undocumented immigrants. The case is not about the recent controversial legislation that criminalizes undocumented immigrants. But the case will address a key issue underpinning both laws: a struggle between states and the federal government over the power to write and reform immigration laws.
