Unemployment rate is down; number of jobs lost is up

The unemployment rate in the U.S. is down to 9.5%, but more jobs were lost in June than analysts had expected. Nonfarm payrolls shed 125,000 jobs, the steepest drop since October. The manufacturing and transportation sectors gained jobs, but construction -- once again -- lost jobs.
