Change to testing presents challenge for Mich. teachers

Michigan's budget, adopted last week, scrapped plans for schools to use the Smarter Balanced assessments in favor of the Michigan Educational Assessment Program test for the next school year. Educators say they are unsure about what material will be covered on the exams, making it difficult to prepare lessons and plan for the coming school year.
