Guidelines expected to recommend even lower cholesterol levels

New guidelines expected to be issued soon urge Americans to reduce their cholesterol to levels lower than earlier recommendations, possibly leading to an even bigger boom in that area of the pharmaceutical business. A New York analyst advises that while the National Cholesterol Education Program will advise the lower levels, it will not go so far as to make a formal recommendation like the one it issued three years ago advising Americans to take cholesterol-lowering drugs.
