Belgian firm creates new type of base for largest wind turbines:

With ever-bigger wind turbines being placed in ever-deeper waters, traditional steel monopile bases are proving impractical. Instead, a Belgian firm is building hollow, pre-stressed concrete bases weighing 2,700 tons and burying them in the seabed 20 miles off the coast.
