Nokia's plans to turn Symbian into a maker of open-source software could become a long-term boon for Google's own open-source Android operating system, according to some analysts. While Nokia is trying to keep users away from devices that run Google's Android, analysts say the Symbian move might play into Google's hands by creating a greater demand for open-source applications.
