House subcommittee approves health IT bill

The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee has passed a bill aimed at boosting adoption of electronic health records. The $575 million initiative, which touches on HIPAA privacy and security rules, has been referred to the Science and Technology and Ways and Means Committees.
