Senators tell Fed, SEC to not finalize agreement

Two senior lawmakers told the Federal Reserve and the Securities and Exchange Commission not to finalize an information-sharing agreement without congressional review. The Fed and SEC have been trying to strike a balance and weigh how best to jointly monitor certain investment banks. That balance could be jeopardized following the rebuffs from Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., and Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala.
