Appeals court allows Vermont law restricting drug-data mining

The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and three drug-data miners failed to win the support of a federal appeals court in their request to block a Vermont law that forbids the use of prescribing information for marketing without the physician's consent. SDI Health-owned Verispan, IMS Health and Source Healthcare Analytics joined the PhRMA in the appeal.
