District in New Jersey is lending books to students for summer

Newark, N.J., schools will spend $180,000 to lend students at all levels at least one book to read this summer. Summer-school students will also be able to exchange their selection for additional books. The move is meant to ensure that students have the texts for summer-reading programs.
