Report: Data network upgrade needed in patient-centered research

A new HHS report recommended that a significant share of the budget for comparative-effectiveness research in the stimulus package be used to upgrade data infrastructure for sharing and analyzing medical information. CER projects also would be more efficient if funding is used in creating distributed data networks and connecting current data sources, according to the report.
