Affluent youths attract luxury brands to Middle East

Mulberry, Montblanc, Jaeger-Le Coultre and other luxury-goods companies are increasingly interested in entering the Middle East because of its population of young and affluent consumers. "There is a huge amount of young people," said Ziad Matta, CEO of Boutique 1. "If you look at all the GCC countries, the proportion of people in their 20s is probably the highest in the world. These are the luxury consumers of today and tomorrow."
