Australians are urged to further protect horses

Animal experts in Australia are warning horse owners to have their animals vaccinated and step up their biosecurity precautions after strangles and Hendra virus were detected in some parts of the country. "It makes sense for anybody who competes with horses and has them moving from competition, from show to show, that they do get their horses adequately vaccinated," an animal biosecurity expert said.
