Fragile economic recovery may stall as stimulus dries up

The $787 billion stimulus package that has fueled the economy over the past year is running dry, and lawmakers are uneasy about approving new funding. While the economic stimulus is credited with creating hundreds of thousands of jobs, keeping the unemployment insurance safety net in place, and repairing bridges and highways, worries have emerged that without those government funds, the economy -- just barely into recovery -- could stall.
