Mass. Senate OKs amendments, may extend debate on gambling bill

The Massachusetts Senate continues to debate a gambling bill but agreed to use 1% of state casino revenue for a property tax break for senior citizens. Lawmakers also approved an amendment to dedicate 35% of state casino revenue to substance abuse, gambling addiction and research. Senate President Therese Murray said lawmakers may extend debate to Saturday of the Independence Day weekend.
