May surge lifts global traffic to pre-recession levels

Worldwide airline traffic has returned to pre-recession levels after a jump of almost 12% in May, according to a global trade association. In North America alone, traffic was up nearly 11%, and North American carriers enjoyed the highest load factor of any region in the world. Demand for air cargo also improved, surging 34% in May.
