Ohio livestock board discusses issues relating to euthanasia

The Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board held a meeting to discuss the medical and ethical concerns relating to euthanasia. State Veterinarian Tony Forshey presented a draft policy containing a definition of euthanasia and measures on how to conduct the practice on cattle. The board also took into consideration the standards of the AVMA when discussing possible euthanasia steps.
