Researchers find a cure for diabetes in rats; human trials may be 5 years away

Scientists at Washington University School of Medicine say they cured diabetes in lab rats using a combination of cells from pig embryos and the pancreas of adult pigs. Human research may be five years away, as scientists seek to study the long-term effectiveness and side effects of the apparent cure.
