Retailers make the most of mobile ads

Retailers are embracing the opportunity to reach shoppers with targeted ads delivered via smartphones, anxious to replace unpopular online pop-up ads with personalized messages touting online and in-store promotions, according to research from NRF's "This could range from making coupons available on them to allowing customers to look up product information such as ratings or reviews on a specific product," said's Scott Silverman.
