Alcohol-related ED visits for underage boys double over holiday

About 1,000 youths, 622 of whom were boys, visited emergency departments daily over the 2009 Independence Day weekend due to alcohol-related injuries, the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration said. The number of ED visits for girls held steady at about 300, while visits from boys doubled, according to the report.
