Cardiovascular issues raise hypoglycemia risk in type 2 diabetes

A study presented at the annual meeting of the American Diabetes Association found that patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular-related complications as well as those on insulin monotherapy were at greater risk of having hypoglycemic events. The findings underscore the importance of a cautious approach in administering medications in high-risk patients, experts said.
