Colorado Dems praise N.Y. GOP for standing up to "fringe"

Two openly gay Colorado lawmakers say they will reintroduce a civil unions bill that failed in the state's Legislature this year. Sen. Pat Steadman and Rep. Mark Ferrandino, both Democrats, said New York succeeded in passing a marriage equality bill this year because New York's GOP is more savvy. According to Ferrandino, New York Republicans were willing to stand up to fringe elements within their party.
