Court: Workers' comp denial can't be based on immigration status

A Florida appellate court upheld a ruling by a workers' compensation judge that entitles an illegal immigrant who was injured at work to permanent and total disability benefits. The employer should have been aware that the worker is an illegal immigrant and can't refuse benefits based on an employee's immigration status, the court ruled.
