Pentagon budget review might hit Lockheed F-35, Gates says

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the Pentagon's budget review might result in cuts to the F-35 fighter program from Lockheed Martin, but it won't kill the effort. "The issue will be less 'whether' we go forward with the plane than how many we ultimately buy," Gates said. The Pentagon plans to purchase 2,457 of the stealth fighters.
