To create and store recipes, chefs tend to rely on a combination of low-tech tools like index cards and cutting-edge technology such as cloud-based recipe organizing sites. At the CIA, students are encouraged to write notes by hand and file recipes digitally, said culinary education senior director Brad Barnes, who co-founded recipe sharing and organizing site GigaChef.com.
