Simonson: Construction recovery is "spotty at best"

Construction employment rose in 120 out of 337 metro areas, but 162 cities recorded declines and 55 maintained current levels, according to an AGC analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. "The close to even split between areas adding and losing jobs is a reminder that for every market doing well, there is another market that is still hurting," said Ken Simonson, the association’s chief economist.
