UK teachers, public workers strike over pension changes

About 100,000 public-sector employees, including teachers, in the United Kingdom went on strike today over a government proposal to increase the retirement age and require them to pay more toward their pensions. Officials say the strikes have closed or partially closed almost half of the schools in England and Wales.
