Automakers are luring applications developers to Detroit and other offices across the country in order to write software for connected-car technology. General Motors is in the midst of quadrupling its information technology workforce while Ford Motor said it will hire 300 IT employees this year. "You're going to see developers set up shop in Detroit because they're going to follow the money, and there will be lots of money," said Brian Mulloy, a developer who started a Detroit-based IT company.
