Collaboration aims to cut emissions from isotope production

The Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization is partnering with the Institute for Radioelements in Belgium to address radioactive noble gas emissions. The plan is to lower the amount of radioactive xenon released during the production of medical isotopes, which can complicate efforts to monitor global nuclear threats, and improve monitoring amid expanding production.
