Educators battle for the title of Iron Science Teacher

Science teachers recently came together for the Iron Science Teacher competition to test their ability to design experiments that excite students. The competition is modeled after the "Iron Chief" cooking show, where contestants are given a secret ingredient and then asked to create multiple dishes. "You have a bunch of grown-ups who know about science playing together and you bring back all of these amazing things for the kids," earth science and life science teacher Ariel Owen said. She added, "I'm having fun and I come back with lessons that are explicit and really help them learn about the world around them."
