Facebook to ad-block controversial pages more aggressively

Facebook will begin blocking advertisements on more pages using an expanded definition for what constitutes offensive or controversial content, the company said last week. The new system will use an algorithm to flag potentially controversial pages, which will then be reviewed by employees. The decision comes after advertisers including Nissan U.K. and Zipcar pulled ads from the site in response to an activist campaign against pages with content seen as promoting violence against women.
