Flexible bond funds attract more interest

Bond funds that have the flexibility to select from different categories of bonds are seeing an increase of funding because of interest-rate concerns, according to some experts. "There's been fear of inflation kicking in for a long time," said Avani Ramnani of Francis Financial. "It's really, really important for a portfolio to have that fixed-income exposure, but also the flexibility to get the right fixed-income exposure."
