Insurers can improve their underwriting, claims handling and other operational processes by using real-time data from social networks, according to experts. "Social data can help insurers go beyond underwriting and pricing to where you are really managing a risk. It turns insurance into much more of a real-time continuous product," said Mike Fitzgerald of Celent.
