New Intel CEO gives Atom processors a higher priority in product portfolio

Brian Krzanich, the new CEO of Intel, is devoting more design and manufacturing resources to the company's Atom line of low-power processors, which is Intel's chief weapon in the battle to win over the smartphone and tablet markets. The company is now holding weekly meetings on updating the Atom portfolio as part of an emphasis on mobile electronics, he told reporters.
