MRC video ad viewability standards are released

The Media Rating Council will release standards today that state that video ads are "viewed" if 50% of the ad is visible on a user's screen for at least two consecutive seconds. Like viewability standards for banner ads, the video-ad metrics are designed to help marketers reduce how much they spend on ads that are never actually seen.
