Marquette University's College of Nursing teaches its students about caring for veterans in a program with the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee, one of six VA Nursing Academic Partnership programs. This program teaches nurses specific skills for treating veterans who may have varied needs because of their service experiences. "The unique thing about the program is building that awareness for students to ask veterans about their experiences. I think it's a trust issue," said Marquette's Amber Young-Brice, a clinical instructor.
