The Great Recession has led to a rapid pace of change in the architectural/engineering delivery model in retail construction, writes Jason Christoff, director of commercial architecture at ms consultants in Columbus, Ohio. These changes are largely seen in three categories: reduced priority for prototype construction, the use of new technology with an eye to efficiency and the composition of the A/E teams themselves.
