New York test chief quits over math Regents test debacle

Testing director Roseanne DeFabio resigned after state education commissioner Richard P. Mills, under pressure to make changes in the department after the Math A Regents exam was invalidated, moved to reassign her. Nearly two-thirds of the students who took the test failed it, prompting the state to re-evaluate the exam.
