Cement shortages show no sign of easing

Twenty-three states are facing cement shortages, and prices may rise by 20% during the next six months, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. AGC has called on the Commerce Department to lift tariffs on imports of Mexican cement to alleviate the escalating crisis; "delay of highway, school and other projects is not in anyone's interest," said AGC CEO Stephen Sandherr.
